FIFA Soccer 08 (2007) served as the foundation for the modern era of portable football. It was the first year EA Sports introduced the “Be A Pro” concept, fundamentally changing how players interacted with the sport by shifting the focus from controlling an entire team to the development of a single superstar.
Game Premise
The 2008 installment is based on the 2007–2008 international season. It challenges you to master the individual skills required to play like a professional. With a heavy emphasis on manual controls and physical play, FIFA 08 move the series closer to a simulation style, requiring you to think about positioning and timing rather than just holding down the sprint button.

Short Review: A New Perspective
The Good
-
Massive Value: With over 30 leagues and the new Be A Pro mode, there is an incredible amount of content packed into a single UMD.
-
Strong Soundtrack: Features a legendary mix of international artists like The Script, Peter Bjorn and John, and Santigold.
-
Solid Physics: The ball physics and collision system felt significantly more “weighty” and realistic than the arcade-style FIFA 07.
The Bad
-
Control Cramp: Mapping the sprint to the R button can lead to hand fatigue during longer play sessions on the original PSP hardware.
-
Muddy Visuals: While the UI is slick, the 3D character models can look blocky and indistinct during close-up replays.
