Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake (2010) is a brilliant handheld port of the PlayStation Network cult classic. It manages to cram the chaotic, large-scale medieval combat of the original PS3 game into the PSP, adding enough exclusive content to make it a “Director’s Cut” of sorts.
Game Story & Premise
In the whimsical (and surprisingly violent) land of Titania, two kingdoms are at war over a piece of magical cake.
The Plot: The story is told through a fairytale book narrated by a charming, British-accented voice. Two princesses have been kidnapped—one by the Blue Team and one by the Red Team. To prevent the enemy from rescuing their princess, you must do the unthinkable: feed her cake. The more she eats, the heavier she becomes, requiring more enemy players to work together to carry her back to their base. It’s essentially a game of “Capture the Flag,” but the flag is a morbidly obese royal who loves dessert.
📄 Back Cover Description

With an expanded single-player campaign featuring 15 chapters, 50% more maps, and 4 new multiplayer modes, this is the ultimate handheld feast.
Cake is power. Are you ready to take a slice?“
⚔️ Character Classes: “Hats Off”
You can change your role at any time by picking up a hat produced by “Hat Machines” in your castle:
-
Worker: The backbone of the team. They harvest wood and ore to upgrade machines and build castle defenses (ladders, catapults).
-
Warrior: The frontline tank. High health and powerful melee attacks.
-
Ranger (Archer): Ranged support. Great for picking off enemies from the castle walls.
-
Mage: Deals massive area-of-effect (AoE) magic damage. Can be upgraded to use ice spells.
-
Priest: The healer. Essential for keeping your Warriors alive during a siege.
PSP Exclusive Features

⭐ Short Review: A Sweet Success
The Good
-
Technical Marvel: Managing 24 AI characters on screen at once with zero frame rate lag was a massive achievement for the PSP.
-
Humor: The contrast between the cute, “Chibi” art style and the fountains of cartoon blood is hilarious.
-
Price Point: Launched at a budget-friendly $19.99, offering incredible value for the amount of content included.
The Bad
-
Interface Cramp: On the small PSP screen, reading the prompts and tracking the tiny characters in a 24-player brawl can be visually overwhelming.
-
Class Balance: The Warrior is significantly stronger than other classes, often leading to “Warrior-only” stalemates in high-level play.
