Secret Agent Clank (2008) is a unique spin-off that finally puts the spotlight on Ratchet’s robotic partner. While Clank usually provides support, this game expands on the “Secret Agent” holovision show introduced in Up Your Arsenal, reimagining Clank as a high-tech, tuxedo-wearing spy in a spoof of the James Bond universe.
Story & Premise
The galaxy’s greatest hero, Ratchet, has been caught on camera stealing the priceless Eye of Infinity gem from the Boltaire Museum. Despite the evidence, Clank refuses to believe his friend is a thief.
The Plot: While Ratchet is locked away on a dangerous Prison Planet, Clank dons his tuxedo and works for “The Agency” to uncover the truth. The investigation leads him across the galaxy—from high-stakes casinos to snowy palaces—to unmask the real mastermind. Along the way, you’ll also play as Captain Qwark, who recounts his “heroic” (and highly exaggerated) versions of the same events, and a jailed Ratchet, who must fight off waves of old enemies in prison arena matches.
